Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek was born in Mexico, to parents of Spanish and Lebanese descent. She grew up in the richest Roman Catholic family from Mexico. She was inspired at a young age to be an actress by the classic film "Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory'. Her time at Mexico City's Universidad Iberoamericana prepared her for an acting career in films. The first role she had as an actress was in the Mexican telenovela 'Teresa.' Following her move to Hollywood and being cast opposite Antonio Banderas in the movie "Desperado.' After that, came roles in "Fools Rush In" as well as "Wild Wild West", amongst others. She reprised her role of 'Desperado' from 'Once There was a Time in Mexico in the following year, and then founded her own production business called "Ventanarosa.' The film she produced was Mexican film 'El Coronel Tiene Quien Le Escriba', which was Mexico's entry for the Oscars for the category of 'Best foreign film.' The executive producer of 'Ugly Betty'. In her role as Sofia Reyes in 'Ugly Betty earned her an award for Outstanding Guest Actress in the field of Comedy Series' at the 60th 'Primetime Emmy Awards.' She also endorses products such as 'Avon ' Revlon as well as her own cosmetics line skin care products, and haircare products under the name 'Nuance'.
