Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She's written 15 books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent free online news publication The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was in Greece and moved to England when she was 16. At Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA of Economics. As the first foreign student to serve as president in the famous debating group The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the position. After after her college graduation, she became a prominent right-wing syndicated reporter. A few more years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political landscape. In part, her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna was first noticed in 2003 as she stood in the California recall election replacing then Governor Davis. Arianna was also part of the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for fuel-efficient automobiles. Her name was voted as the most Influential Women in Media by Forbes in 2009 and was awarded the 12th place in that list. That same year Guardian named her on the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her the president of their media company, which also included additional AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter of Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as a journalist. Although she had a close connection to her mother and father, it was their bond which shaped her. Even as a young girl she demonstrated leadership skills that she's still known for. When she was in her 16th year she returned to the UK to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. As a student and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the college debating societies where she eventually became its first female and foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with an education in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic and a television host. Additionally, she starred alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started creating books with the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
